New Lifeline Levels and Policy as of January 1, 2009
Women of Reform Judaism recognizes the pressing current needs of our worldwide Jewish community. We must also be able to meet the needs of our Jewish community in the future. Through the YES Fund (Youth, Education, and Special Projects), WRJ is able to achieve what no individual or sisterhood could accomplish alone. This Fund represents the collective efforts of our members and donors to strengthen the institutions of Reform/Progressive Judaism and ensure the future of Reform Jewish leadership.
You are helping to ensure our ability to meet the needs of future generations contribute to the future of WRJ by contributing to WRJ’s Lifeline Endowment Fund, the annual interest of which directly supports the YES Fund (Youth, Education, and Special Projects).
Until December 31, 2008, any Lifeline donor may convert her current Lifeline level to a new level by pledging the difference between her current level and the new level. She should contribute the balance between her current level and the new level within the time frame for the higher level. If she has not made a payment toward a Lifeline in 2008, she will need to make her first payment in 2008.
Example when converting a Lifeline:
A Donor has contributed 1 Silver Lifeline ($1,000) and has a Silver Lifeline pin. She wants to convert her Silver to a Gold Lifeline ($5,000). Hence she has $4,000 left to contribute to reach the Gold Lifeline level.
She should complete the remaining $4,000 in four years, therefore contributing $1,000 per year. Upon completion, we request that she donate her Silver Lifeline pin to WRJ, as she will be a Gold Lifeline donor.
As of January 1, 2009, there will be no converting of previous Lifelines to a new Lifeline level. If a Silver Lifeline donor wishes to contribute a Gold Lifeline, she will contribute $5,000 in four years. When converting a Lifeline, the donor will receive her pin upon completion of payment for the new Lifeline. A donor converting to a new level of Lifeline will be requested to donate her previous level pin to the Living Legacy of Lifelines program in which donated pins will be presented to new Lifeline donors in a meaningful way.
The new levels time frames for Lifelines are as follows:
· Silver: $1,800 over 3 years
· Gold: $5,000 over 4 years
· Pearl: $10,000 over 5 years
· Diamond: $18,000 over 6 years
Thank you for your support of WRJ’s Lifeline Endowment Fund and the YES Fund!
