For Excellence in Sisterhood Programming

The Women of Reform Judaism Or Ami "Light of My People" Awards for Excellence in Sisterhood Programming, presented at each assembly, honor sisterhoods and districts undertaking unusual and significant social justice programs, community service, or educational projects. WRJ is proud of the achievements of the many sisterhoods that submit applications for the Or Ami Awards.

The sisterhood and district leaders working on programs and projects throughout the world fulfill the WRJ resolutions to respond to Jewish and humanitarian domestic and global needs. The attached Or Ami “Light of My People” Award for Excellence in Sisterhood Programming publication can be useful as a resource for program and community service ideas which can be replicated, adapted, or taken in new directions.

Guidelines and applications for the 2011 Or Ami awards will be posted here in February 2011 for the awards that will be presented at the 48th assembly in Washington, DC. We urge you to submit your successful projects or programs for consideration for a 2011 Or Ami award to bring recognition to your sisterhood and share your best efforts with other sisterhoods.
