We heard you!  Sisterhoods have requested that WRJ offer grants to help send representatives to WRJ’s leadership conferences. You told us that if WRJ offered financial support, sisterhoods that haven’t been able to send a representative to a leadership conference in the recent past, might be able to do so.

We are delighted to inform you that in May 2007, the WRJ Board of Directors approved grant awards for WRJ’s upcoming leadership conference January 23-25, 2009 in New Orleans.  Grant recipients will be awarded the $250 registration fee, which covers programming, materials, and all meals.  Reimbursement for the registration fee will be sent to the sisterhood shortly after the conference. The WRJ Grant Awards are funded by a percentage of membership dues along with a generous gift from a WRJ board member.

The primary motivation behind creating these grant awards is to help sisterhoods that haven’t been able to send a representative to a leadership conference in the recent past. If your sisterhood did not have a representative at the leadership conference in either Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, (2007) or Atlanta (2006), your sisterhood may be eligible to apply for a grant.  While priority will be given to sisterhoods that have never attended WRJ’s Sisterhood Leadership Conference, all eligible sisterhoods are encouraged to apply.  If you have received a grant for assembly, you may still apply for a grant to the leadership conference; however, you must send a different attendee.
