Israel: A Women's Journey - TRIP REPORT
Our
WRJ Women’s Journey to Israel
was absolutely fantastic! For ten days,
twenty-three women – WRJ board members, sisterhood presidents, and sisterhood
members – learned about the programs within Israel
that our members support through the YES Fund and their contributions to World Union. We met, and
sometimes studied with, rabbis, congregational members, students, artists,
poets, and we made new friends from around the Jewish world at the World Union for Progressive Judaism Convention. All of us were
swept away by the beauty of the Israeli landscape, and the fortitude of its
inhabitants. We were inspired by stories
of courageous and visionary Jews who are renewing liberal Judaism in remote
corners of the globe. And, as sisterhood
women are inclined to do, we laughed, cried, ate, and shopped together and made
memories that will last a lifetime. We
wish you all had been there.
Following are the letters Rosanne Selfon, WRJ President, sent back from Israel during our journey. Read through them for an engaging and detailed account of our trip.
